Paraffin wax is a white or colorless soft, solid wax. It’s made from saturated hydrocarbons. Paraffin wax is used to apply moist heat to hands or feet to ease pain and stiffness. This type of heat therapy treatment is a good choice for people with arthritis or other rheumatic diseases – the heat helps to increase blood flow and relax muscles.

It acts like a form of heat therapy and can help increase blood flow, relax muscles, and decrease joint stiffness. Procedure

The paraffin wax, which is obtained from refined crude oil is first melted and then allowed to cool. Then after cleaning the hands and feet, the wax is applied and tested in a small section to keep a check the temperature of the wax. Ones that appear bearable the body part is then dipped into the wax and is left to solidify for 4 to 5 seconds. Then again, the body part is dipped, and the procedure is followed four to five times until it forms a strong layer around the skin.
